LEON, Spain.
Once the Jubilee Year celebrating the V Centenary of the birth of St. Teresa has started, activities and celebrations seem to multiply to make her known. Among others, Santa Teresa School in León, run by the Teresian Association, is engaged in various activities during this first week.
Song to St. Teresa…
Santa Teresa School in León has joined in the celebration of the V Centenary of the birth of St. Teresa of Jesus since the beginning of this academic year (2014-2015). And, as is to be expected since the school bears her name and because it belongs to the Teresian Association, October 15th was a special day. A festive celebration brought together all the students and faculty of the school; and the younger ones have dedicated a song to Saint Teresa as a gift.
Also, the school has organized a presentation with a talk to be given by Itziar Aguinagalde titled "Meaning of a Centennial." It will be open to the educational community and the whole city of Leon.
Saint Teresa will continue being very much present in the school throughout the academic year; she has inspired the choice of their theme: Walking new paths is growth. Through various activities, celebrations and programs, the Saint from Avila, Doctor of the Church, and roving founder will be better known. Above all, we will be invited to deepen into the values she lived and transmitted: JOY, COURAGE, GENEROSITY, FAITH and LOVE.
