The TA Secretariat of Schools informs on activities of the past academic year.
It was a year of encounters that increased networking among the 19 schools that the Teresian Association has in Spain.
The encounters lived in this past Academic Year at Santa María de Los Negrales have been an opportunity for formation, exchange of ideas and experiences, an opportunity to build relationships and channel growth.
In October, the guidance and pastoral counselors of our schools met to celebrate the V centenary of St. Teresa’s birth with the desire to deepen into their profiles as educators. As a result of this, the group ended their work of the last years with a training program for tutors. Members of the guidance and pastoral teams exchanged experiences of this year to celebrate St. Teresa of Jesus and make her role in the good idea of Poveda better known.
In December, over 50 office, maintenance, and cafeteria workers gathered together, first of all, to be recognized for their work.
Late January is the usual time for meeting of the various boards of Parent Associations of the 19 schools, convened by the Pedro Poveda Parent Federation. On this occasion Concha Romero was with them to work on the role of Parent Associations in the development of the Educational Project of TA schools.
The theme of innovation engaged management teams at their annual encounter in January. Merche Blanchard accompanied us. The work of the Innovation Committee, formed by a group of teachers from our schools who are especially motivated in this area, was presented.
During the months of February and March a group of 25 teachers who have successfully completed a course on Educational Coaching met three times.
Also, the third training program for 40 future managers on shared leadership was initiated. So far, we have met twice, and there will have two more meeting next year with face-to-face and virtual attendance.
We cannot forget EDIT 2015, held in La Línea, which included the 19 schools of Spain and the Teresian School in Dublin (Ireland).
Continue Growing: this is the common theme we set for this past academic year back in September. Looking back we can recognize and be grateful for a year of enthusiastic work of many people who are engaged in educational work in the style of Poveda, an academic year that comes to a close with a renewed desire to continue growing.
