MADRID, Spain.
Education, Culture and Solidarity Association and members of San Cristobal project participated in Spain’s "state march to end violence against women" on November 7 in Madrid.
The march had been organized by more than 400 women's associations of Spain, who denounced that "gender violence is the most violent manifestation of gender inequality and it represents the most serious violation of the human rights of women in our society."

Unfortunately, this type of violence is repeated in many countries. On June 3, in the Plaza del Congreso, Buenos Aires, and in hundreds of places of Argentina, Chile and Uruguay, a multitude of voices and flags got together under the slogan "No more" because the situation of gender violence is alarming.
International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women
The UN has convened a campaign to denounce violence against women. “From 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, to 10 December, Human Rights Day, the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence Campaign is a time to galvanize action to end violence against women and girls around the world.” (UN) The date of November 25 was chosen to honor the Mirabal sisters, three political activists in the Dominican Republic who were brutally murdered in 1960 during the dictatorship of Rafael Trujillo (1930-1961).
"We are all responsible for preventing and ending violence against women and girls, starting with the elimination of a culture of discrimination that allows this violence to continue," said UN Secretary General, Ban Ki –moon, in his message convening.
The Teresian Association makes "a firm commitment to recognize and defend the dignity and rights of individuals." Ending all forms of violence against women is "a requirement of justice and a gospel mandate."
