Teresa, je voudrais te dire… (Teresa, I would like to tell you … ) is a play adapted from the book "Chère Thérèse d’Ávila," by Claude Plettner, performed on March 26 in Louvaine and on March 27 in Brussels to honor Teresa of Jesus in the V Centenary of her birth. Adaptation and staging: Dominique Davin; Interpretation: Sandrine Chanveau.
In the book" Chère Thérèse d'Avila" (Dear Teresa) Claude Plettner writes a series of "letters" to Teresa of Avila with the desire to make her close and accessible to our present context. Members of Argile Théâtre company contacted Claude Plettner to bring his book to the theater ... This was the origin of the play "Teresa, I would say..."

A woman of today addresses Teresa of Avila as in a dream. She speaks to a close friend, and tries to speak beyond time, "Teresa, I would like to tell you..."

Thank you for this magnificent show on the person of Teresa ... the word "show" resonates within me in a special way ... because it was much more than a show: it was a real spiritual experience...
Through the figure of Teresa, you have touched on so many things!: the body, which at times struggles to keep pace with the soul, her feeling abandoned, her de-centering herself to be able to receive everything from God, mystical joy, contemplation and action, solitude and community, simplicity, joy, ...
The challenge was great and you have represented the topic in a sublime way. From start to finish I have been overwhelmed with emotion. You have highlighted beautifully and deeply all those facets of Teresa, sometimes so contradictory! What touched me the most was the way in which you expressed the work of unification that God does in us (body, soul, spirit) through your gestures, the depth of your words, and perfect diction.
Thanks, Dominique, for the staging and the lighting done so well that they convey so much and without which Sandrine could not have given the best of herself...

Organized by groups, "the Teresian family" in Brussels, male and female Carmelites, Apostolic Carmelites, and the Teresian Association have organized and lived four weeks of prayer in life, focusing on the spirituality of Teresa of Jesus. This experience was lived in the convent of the Carmelites in Brussels and Louvain during last Lent.
